I won’t be going to Greece any time soon

It might be a good idea for me to consider sleeping when the clock reads 10pm instead of writing in a blog, as my hackles can get elevated even higher at the end of the day.  Consider them quite rattled this evening, after reading here of a monstrous decision made by the Greek government.

Greek disabled groups are angry at a their government’s decision to expand a list of state-recognized disability categories to include pedophiles, exhibitionists and kleptomaniacs.  The National Confederation of Disabled People called the action “incomprehensible,” and said pedophiles are now awarded a higher government disability pay than some people who have received organ transplants.

Pedophiles are not disabled.  They are child molesters.  They have no remorse for their actions, instead feeling their behaviors are of benefit to their victims.  Counseling won’t change them.   Chemical castration doesn’t affect their thinking.   They never change.   Unless they are stopped, they will continue to sexually abuse children (usually little boys) until the day death stops them.

A friend is planning on leading a educational trip to Greece this year, and going to visit such a beautiful country with someone who knows it well could be a wonderful venture.  I’ve always thought I’d like to see the Parthenon, Delphi and Rhodes but, sadly, my financial contributions won’t be headed in that direction any time soon.   I couldn’t stomach being a tourist in a country that is a haven to men who destroy the innocence of children.
